An Alligator in the White House?

We recently read a book entitled President Adams' Alligator, by Peter and Cheryl Barnes. The boys and girls really enjoyed learning about the "first pets", from George Washington to George Bush. As you can see, we created a graph to show our favorite pets. (Incidentally, the alligator resided in the East Room. It was a gift from the Marquis de Lafayette.)
